Hello and Welcome to Kirkby Revisited, a show where I review all the latest news from Liverpool’s Academy from the past week. Some reviews may be long, some reviews may be short, it all depends on what has happened in that week.
Under 21s Crash out of Semi-Finals
Liverpool Under 21s experienced a sense of de ja vu, when they lost again to arch rivals Manchester United in the semi-final of the Under 21s Premier League. The game was much more different to last year’s game where Man Utd thrashed the young Reds 3-0. The game was more balanced but a wonder strike from Andreas Pereira was the difference between the two sides.
Hodzic to be loaned out again?
Under 21 striker Armin Hodzic is set to be sent out on loan yet again after he returns from his current loan spell at Bosnian side FK Zeljeznicar. The Bosnian international has been waiting for a work permit since his arrival, but it seems that the club will still send him out on loan again next season, despite his work permit being granted. Reports are that a Belgian side are after Liverpool’s lost man.
Liverpool Make First Signing of the Summer
Liverpool have reportedly made their first signing of the summer when 14 year old forward Glen McAuley put pen to paper to sign when the Irish forward turns 16. The young prodigy will still visit and use the facilities at the Kikrby Academy to make the transition of becoming a Liverpool player smoother.
