Liverpool today announced that 19 year old winger Krisoffer Peterson has officially joined Eredivisie side FC Utrecht on a permanent deal, much to the disappointment of many Liverpool fans. The Swedish Youth International made his breakthrough into the first team at the start of the season, scoring in the pre-season friendlies away to IF Brondby and Preston North End, which earned him a spot of the plane for the Reds’ pre-season tour of the USA.
The teenager joined Liverpool in January 2011 from Swedish side Savedalens IF and was successful in both the Under 18s and Under 21s squads, more recently scoring 12 goals for Alex Inglethorpe’s Under 21s last season and played for League One side Tranmere Rovers for a month.
Upon arriving at Utrecht, Peterson described his new side as a “huge club” where he “cannot wait to play games.” Everyone at Liverpool FC wishes Peterson all the best in his new adventure.
