Liverpool FC today confirmed that young winger Jordon Ibe has joined Championship side Derby County on a season long loan. Ibe, 18, becomes the 9th player to leave Anfield this Summer and the 3rd Academy youngster to be loaned out after Joao Teixeira and Rafa Paez were loaned out. The England Under 19 international will wear the number 44 shirt with his new side, and is available for selection for Derby’s game with Ipswich at the iPro Stadium on Saturday, where he is likely to make his debut with his new side.
Liverpool loaning out players to Derby County is not a new thing as defender Andre Wisdom spent last season on loan with Steve McClaren’s side and having already been on loan in the Championship last season with Birmingham City, Ibe is relishing the chance with his new side. Having previously been linked with fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers, Ibe chose to join Derby after successful talks with the Derbyshire club.
