Liverpool Football Club have announced that three of this season’s Under 21 fixtures have changed from their original dates. Firstly, the young Reds’ game with Manchester City Under 21s, which was originally going to take place next Monday has now been moved to Thursday 25th September. The location and kick-off time remains unchanged however, with the game against Patrick Vieira’s side still being held at the Kirkby Academy with a 7pm kick-off. This fixture has been moved because of the first team’s game with Middlesbrough at Anfield in the Capital One Cup, competition which has a reputation where young players feature.

Next, the mini-derby against arch rivals Everton has also been moved as a result of the first fixture change. This game, scheduled for Monday 29th September has been put back 5 days to Saturday 4th October. The kick-off time has changed for this game, with it being a 3pm kick-off at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium. This date has been moved because of Liverpool Under 19s game away to Swiss side Basel being played on Wednesday 1st October, the game will take place at the same time as the first team’s game at home to West Bromwich Albion.

The third and final fixture changed is the home tie with Southampton. The game with the Hampshire side was due to be played on Thursday 16th October at the Kirkby Academy but has now been moved until Monday 1st December, but like the game with Manchester City, it is a 7pm kick-off.
