Andre Wisdom and Divock Origi were the only Liverpool loanees to play 90 minutes at the weekend, with Jordon Ibe, Iago Aspas, Joao Teixeira and Oussama Assaidi playing 45 minutes or less. Sebastian Coates and Tiago Ilori both missed their respective games with thigh injuries whilst Luis Alberto missed Malaga’s game for reasons unknown. Finally, Rafa Paez was in the matchday squad for Bologna but he was an unused substitute. Here’s a round-up of how they all did, starting with players in the Premier League

Oussama Assaidi came on as an 79th minute substitute for Stoke in their 1-0 defeat away to Southampton. The Morrocan replaced Victor Moses but the winger failed to make an impact as Stoke still haven’t won at Southampton since 1980. Andre Wisdom was more successful for his loan side as West Brom recovered from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace. The former England Under 21 captain played another 90 minutes for Alan Irvine’s side. Sebastian Coates did not feature for Sunderland in their 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal because of an ongoing thigh problem, he is still no way near full fitness.

In the Championship, Joao Carlos Teixeira played a brief cameo for Brighton in their 1-1 draw at home to Rotherham. The Portugal Under 21 international played the final ten minutes after he replaced England Under 21 midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey. However, Teixeira didn’t make a telling contribution as Brighton now go ten games without a win. Elsewhere, Jordon Ibe played 45 minutes for his side Derby County as they slipped to a late defeat at home to Wigan. Ibe created a chance for Johnny Russell in the 39th minute before having a chance of his own four minutes later, but the England Under 20 star saw his shot go just wide of Scott Carson’s goal.

In France and Tiago Ilori was absent for Bordeaux as they suffered a 3-0 thrashing away to Ligue 1 champions PSG. Ilori has been out with a thigh injury and is expected to return next month. Divock Origi started in Lille’s disappointing 2-0 away to Rennes and the Belgian only had one chance in the entire game, and the 19-year-old missed the target in the 40th minute. Iago Aspas featured for 16 minutes for loan side Sevilla as they beat Villareal 2-1 to move up to second in La Liga. Aspas replaced Gameiro but failed to take his chance as he didn’t create any clear cut chances. Luis Alberto was not even in Malaga’s squad for their game with Rayo Vallecano. It did not seem like the hosts missed their creative midfielder as they won 4-0 to rise to seventh. Finally, in Serie B, Rafa Paez was an unused substitute on his return from injury for Bologna as they beat Trapani 2-1.
