Only five Liverpool loanees were in action this week, with the other five injured or not required. Of those five that featured only Andre Wisdom, Divock Origi and Joao Teixeira played the full games, whilst wingers Jordon Ibe and Oussama Assaidi came on as second-half substitutes.

Oussama Assaidi was an unused substitute for Stoke City as they threw away at 2-0 lead at home to West Ham to draw 2-2. Further bad news for Assaidi is that Victor Moses, who is keeping him out of the starting line-up, scored Stoke’s opener. Andre Wisdom was more successful, and played the full 90 minutes in West Brom’s win away at Leicester. The former England Under 21 captain also helped the Baggies keep a clean sheet as they won 1-0. Sebastian Coates was still out with a thigh injury and therefore didn’t feature for Sunderland in their 3-1 win at Crystal Palace last night, there is also no date of return for the Uruguayan.

Jordon Ibe started on the bench for Derby as they lost 2-1 away at Brentford. The England Under 20 international came on for Simon Dawkins in the 63rd minute and created two chances to put Derby back in front, but it wasn’t to be for Steve McClaren’s side.

Joao Teixeira had a big game in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday night and played the full 90 minutes for Brighton in their 3-2 defeat away to AFC Bournemouth. The playmaker had two chances early on in the second half. He also created two others of which one was Brighton’s equaliser scored by Adrian Colunga. The Portuguese youth international rounded off an eventful game with a yellow card.

In Spain, Iago Aspas followed up his hat-trick in the Cup last week with a rare La Liga appearance. The striker replaced Carlos Bacca in the 70th minute as Sevilla lost 1-0 away to Athletic Bilbao. Luis Alberto was omitted for the Malaga squad for the fourth matchday in a row, and is not injured so it seems like he has lost his place in the squad.

Elsewhere in Europe, Divock Origi played the full game in Lille’s 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne. The Belgian forward had a golden chance to win it for Lille, but he missed his penalty in the 72nd minute. Staying in Ligue 1 and Tiago Ilori remains on the sidelines in for his loan side Bordeaux but they didn’t seem to miss him as they defeated Toulouse 2-1. Finally, Rafa Paez was an unused substitute for Bologna as they lost 3-2 at home to Livorno in Serie ‘B’.
