James Maddison is a target for Premier League side Liverpool. The midfielder, 18, currently plays for League One side Coventry City. After a string of impressive performances for the Sky Blues this season, Maddison has attracted interest from clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. The midfielder has made 12 appearances this season across a whole host of competitions. In addition to playing in League One, Maddison has also featured in the FA Cup, Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the Capital One Cup. He scored his first goal in competitive football in Coventry’s 4-1 defeat to Oldham on 21 October.

He signed his first professional contract in November 2014 when he put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal, keeping his at the Ricoh Arena until June 2018. He made his debut for Coventry in their 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat against Cardiff in August. He made his league debut in another 2-1 defeat, this time in October against Crewe Alexandra.

If he is to move to Liverpool, then the Reds should look to sign him and then immediately loan him back to Coventry.
