Sheyi Ojo is the latest Liverpool youngster to loaned out after he joined Championship side Wigan Athletic on a deal until the end of the season. After starting on the bench in the 3-1 home defeat to league leaders AFC Bournemouth, Ojo, 17, came on in the 59th minute. The debutant looked lively and won his side three free-kicks. Despite only playing 31 minutes, Ojo was given the ‘Man Of The Match’ award.
Joao Teixeira was back in the Brighton starting line-up in place of Jake Forster-Caskey, and played the entire 90 minutes in their 3-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. The Portugal Under-21 midfielder did hit the post in the second, shortly after the vistiors went ahead. In that half, he forced a very good save out of Karl Darlow and also missed a free header inside the box. Teixeira was also lively in creating chances, with his moment coming in the 93rd minute, but Leon Best headed his cross wide. Overall he had six chances before creating four.
Lloyd Jones recently signed for League Two side Cheltenham Town on an inital one-month loan deal along with Liverpool Under-21 team-mates Kevin Stewart and Jack Dunn. After injuries to Dunn and Stewart, Jones is the remianing Reds representative at Whadden Road. He came as an a 77th minute substitute in their 3-1 defeat at league leaders Burton Albion.
Tiago Ilori played the full 90 minutes for loan side Bordeuax as they beat strugglers Evian 1-0. Ilori has battled a thigh injury which has saw his sidelined on a consistent basis but has looked to put those behind him. He had a chance in the 20th minute, but he missed the target.
Divock Origi came on as a 70th minute substitute for Lille as they picked up a vital 2-1 win at Montpellier. Origi replaced Roux and had only one shot all game, and that was blocked. This meant he has continued his goal drought with the club.
