Joao Teixeira played 74 minutes for Championship side Brighton, but that didn’t stop them losing 2-0 at home to league leaders Bournemouth in the South Coast derby. The Portuguese playmaker created two chances before having a half chance of his own before he was substituted for Craig Mackail-Smith shortly after Bournemouth’s opener. Sheyi Ojo was an unused substitue for Wigan as they drew 2-2 at Fulham. The England Under-18 international has been impressing in recent weeks, but his place in the side may be under threat with the appointment of Gary Caldwell as manager.

Lloyd Jones played the full 90 minutes for League Two side Acrrington Stanley. However, the former Liverpool Under-21s captain could not help his side keep a clean sheet, as they drew 2-2 at Cambridge United on Saturday. Staying in League Two and Kevin Stewart made his debut for league leaders Burton Albion. He played just two minutes, coming on as an 88th minute substitute in place of Adam McGurk, in their 1-0 win at Luton Town. Morecambe goalkeeper Danny Ward is yet to keep a clean sheet for his new side. Liverpool Under-21 man Ward made yet another start for the Shrimps, but did concede in the 3-1 win at home to Portsmouth. The only negative in what was a good day for him.

In Europe, Tiago Ilori was an unused substitute for Bordeuax, but they still beat high flyers Marseille 1-0 to move up to sixth in Ligue 1. Like Ojo, the central defender has been in a good run of form, but it seems he is temporarily out of the side. Divock Origi was more successful however. The Belgian forward started, and played 76 minutes for Lille in their 1-0 win over Evian before he was replaced by Kevin Koubemba. Origi had two chances in the game but missed them both as his goal draught continues.
