Liverpool are set to make a £6m bid for Chelsea Andreas Christensen. Christensen, 19, has found first team appearances limited this season since joining from IF Brondby. The Blues defender’s contract expires in the summer and the Reds are prepared to snap up the Denmark Under-21 international.
The defender has found chances in the Chelsea team limited this season, even more so now that Jose Mourinho’s side signed Kurt Zouma last season. Christensen has made just two appearances for Chelsea in his three years in West London. He was reportedly the ‘highest-paid player in the history of the FA Youth Cup’, and now Liverpool are willing to offer him a second chance in the Premier League
Christensen is primarily a centre-back, but is another versatile young player and can play at right-back. With current right-back Glen Johnson set to leave Liverpool in the summer, Brendan Rodgers is already starting work in finding a replacement.
