Jordan Williams and Kevin Stewart have signed for League One side Swindon Town on a season-long loan deals from Liverpool. Williams, 19, has been a major player in the Reds’ U21 side last season and made his first-team debut in September 2014. Stewart, 21, joined the Reds last season from Tottenham and can play as a defender or a central midfielder.
Wales U21 international Williams begins his second spell in League One after spending a month one loan with Notts County last season. Williams will be looking to gain more experience in the football league after signing a new two-and-a-half year deal with the Reds. He becomes the second Liverpool player to have joined Swindon after Brad Smith was on loan at the County Ground last season. Williams will link up with former Academy team-mate Tyrell Belford. He made his debut on Saturday when Swindon faced Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton at the County Ground. He started the game at centre-back in the 4-0 defeat but many Swindon fans were full of praise for the youngster.
Stewart is sent out on loan for the third time in his career. The youngster had two spells in League Two last season where he played for Cheltenham Town and Burton Albion. He featured four times for the relegated Cheltenham but scored the goal that helped Burton win the League Two title. Stewart did have one year left on his current deal at Anfield but signed a new contract before leaving for the West country.
