Lawrence Vigouroux saw his loan spell at Swindon Town cut short, after he tried to pay a £50 fine in 1p coins. Vigouroux was dropped to the bench in Swindons 2-1 defeat to Colchester after he failed to turn up on time for training. He was meant to be in Wiltshire on a season-long loan.

Elsewhere, his Swindon team-mate Jordan Williams played 90 minutes in the defeat, and had just one shot on target. Staying in League One, and Ryan Kent played the full 90 minutes for Coventry as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bury. The England U20 winger had two chances throughout the game, but couldn’t convert them. Former England U20 international Lloyd Jones also played the full 90 minutes for League One side Blackpool. The Tangerines suffered a 2-0 defeat at Shrewsbury, which sees them stay bottom of the table. Finally, Harry Wilson came on as a 76th minute substitute for Crewe as they drew 1-1 at high-flyers Walsall. The Wales International replaced Lauri Della Valle and was lively, but didn’t make a huge impact.

In the Championship, and Sergi Canos came on as a 73rd minute substitute for Brentford as they lost 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday. In his short time on the pitch, he created one chance before having another late on. Brentford have since sacked manager Marinus Dijkhuizen so it will be interesting to see how his development continues. Sheyi Ojo also started on the bench in the Championship at the weekend. The winger, came on as a 65th minute for Jed Wallace. The made a telling contribution, creating chances for both Benik Afobe and Danny Batth, but both missed their chances at Wolves settled for a 1-1 draw at Preston.

In the SPL, and Danny Ward was part of an Aberdeen side who lost two games in a week as they 100% start to the league came to an abrupt end. He played the full 90 minutes as Aberdeen were knocked out of the Scottish Cup, losing 2-0 at Hibernian. He then featured in the Dons”2-1 defeat at Inverness. It couldve been more but Ward produced brilliant saves from Liam Polworth and Ryan Christie to keep the score respectable. McLaughlin was an unused substitute for the defeat at the Caledonian Stadium, but did play in the defeat to Hibs. He came on as a 27th minute substitute replacing Graeme Shinnie.

In Europe, and Samed Yesil scored his first goal for FC Luzern as they beat Zurich 1-0 in the Swiss Super League. Yesil was given his first start by Markus Babbel, and netted the winner in the 51st minute. He didn’t play the full 90 minutes though, as Jakub Jantscher replaced him in the 65th minute. In the Bundesliga 2, and Taiwo Awoniyi was an unused substitute for FSV Frankfurt in their 2-0 defeat at Freiburg. The Nigerian has yet to make an appearance for his loan side.

Finally, Allan Rodrigues de Souza featured for SJK as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to HIFK. Allan was taken off in the early stages of their last game but has since recovered from a niggle.
