Davor Lovren and Odsonne Edouard are the latest youngsters to be scouted by Premier League side Liverpool. Lovren, 17, younger brother of current Reds defender Dejan, is a left winger currently playing for Croatia in the U17 World Cup in Chile. Edouard, 17, was scouted by the Reds in a recent UEFA Youth League game for PSG against Malmo.Lovren currently plays for Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, where he has played 3 games this season for the reserves. As well as representing his club, he has also a lot of international experience at youth level for Croatia. The winger has played 18 games for the U16 and U17s, scoring five goals. He recently played the full 90 minutes for the U17s in the opening game of the World Cup against Chile on Sunday. In a recent publication, Lovren was named in the top 50 exciting young prospects and has clearly expressed his interest in joining the Reds. If Lovren does move to Merseyside, he will be reunited with his brother Dejan, who has also said he would like Davor to play for the Reds in the future.
Edouard is a striker who can also play as a centre forward. Although born in the French Guiana, the PSG striker has played for France at U17 level. Despite making his debut in October 2014 as a 16-year-old, he has scored 15 goals in just 12 appearances. This includes a hat-trick in France’s 4-1 win over Germany in the final of the UEFA U17 European Championships. In the tournament, Edouard impressed, scoring 13 goals and 2 assists as well as being the man with the most goals in the tournament. In the current 2015/16 season, he has played four games in the UEFA Youth League, creating one assist, a 4-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in their last game.
Edouard is full of great potential and will be a good addition to the Reds, but does seem happy at Paris Saint Germain. If either Lovren or Edouard will go to Liverpool, then according to rumours, it will more than likely be Davor Lovren.
