Allan Rodrigues De Sousa is reportedly close to joining Belgian Premier League side Sint-Truiden on a six-month loan deal. The midfielder, 18, previously had a loan spell with SJK in the Finnish Premier League, helping them win their first league title in his eight appearances. The Brazilian told reporters that he has to go out on loan in order to obtain a work permit, and it looks like Belgium is his likely destination.

After signing from Brazilian side Internacional for £500,000, after impressing in the 2015 Frenz International Cup, where he was captain of his side as they went all the way to win it. The midfielder hasn’t been able to pay an official league games for the U21s due to work permit issues. However, he did feature in a friendly against Birmingham, where he scored his first goal for the Reds in a 3-1 win.

According to reports, Liverpool and Sint-Truiden started negotiations in December 2015 and it appears that after positive talks the clubs are reportedly close to reaching an agreement. The Belgian Premier outfit currently sit in 11th with 25 points from 21 games, and is the former club of current Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Should Allan move to Belgium, he will be re-united with two players who he faced as a Brazil U17 youth international. The midfielder lined up against Colombia’s Joao Rodriguez and Chilean youngster Christian Cuevas while on international duty, which led him to be described as: “an unbelievable player who can operate in the middle as both a destroyer and an attacker.”

During his loan spell at SJK, Allan provided five assists, scored twice and claimed three man-of-the-match performances in just eight games. Should he repeat that performance, he will definitely catch the eye of the Liverpool representatives, who will more than likely watch their clash against Anderlecht should he join.
