Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement with National League side Tranmere Rovers to use the Prenton Park stadium to host the upcoming matches for the U21s and the U18s. Michael Beale’s U21 will face Leeds United in the last 16 of the U21 Premier Cup on Tuesday 19 January, after the tie was moved from Harrogate Town AFC due to a waterlogged pitch.

The U21s will be looking to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament after Madger Gomes scored a dramatic extra-time winner in the Reds 4-3 win over Middlesbrough in the round of 32. The Reds have played some of their games at Langtree Park this season, and have also played at Anfield at the club’s Kirkby Academy. Prenton Park will be the third National League ground to host Liverpool U21s games, with the Reds having already played at Chester’s Deva Stadium and Southport’s Haig Avenue.

The club have also announced that they have reached an agreement with Tranmere to use the stadium to host the U18s FA Youth Cup fourth round tie with Cardiff City. After beating Ipswich Town 2-1 in Langtree Park, the Reds will be looking for a place in the fifth round where they will face either Birmingham City or Nottingham Forest. Neil Critchley’s side will still play most of their U18 fixtures at the Kirkby Academy.
