Mario Balotelli again found game time hard to come by with AC Milan this week. There were wins for Lawrence Vigouroux and Ryan Fulton whilst Sergi Canos and Samed Yesil both suffered defeats. Taiwo Awoniyi got a rare start for FSV Frankfurt whilst Luis Alberto again impressed in La Liga, here’s this week’s loan watch:
Lawrence Vigouroux was part of a Swindon Town side who picked up back-to-back wins this week, even they he failed to keep a clean sheet. The Chilean goalkeeper featured for the entire 90 minutes in the Robins’ 4-1 win at League One strugglers Colchester United. He then featured in their 3-2 win against Blackpool at the County Ground, and will be hoping for a clean sheet when Town travel to mid-table Peterborough on Saturday.
Ryan Fulton was also part of a side who remained unbeaten this week, but he too did not keep a clean sheet. The Portsmouth goalkeeper would have been disappointed to have conceded after Bristol Rovers scored in the 90th minute in their 3-1 victory at Fratton Park. He then featured for Paul Cook’s side in their 1-1 draw at Yeovil and will be hoping for another strong performance in their trip to Barnet tomorrow evening.
Mario Balotelli featured for just two minutes in AC Milan’s 2-1 victory at the weekend. The Italian striker has been linked with a move away from San Siro, but replaced Carlos Bacca in the 88th minute. He will be hoping for more game time when Milan face Napoli tonight, but Head Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is reportedly fed up of the striker’s attitude.
Luis Alberto had more success. The attacking midfielder started, and played 79 minutes in Deportivo’s 2-2 draw at home to Real Betis. The loanee had three efforts, of which two of them was blocked. He then featured for the entire 90 minutes and was much more influential, but his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to strugglers Espanyol. The midfielder had six shots in total throughout the game and will be looking to put in another decent performance when Deportivo host Granada next Sunday.
Taiwo Awoniyi got a rare start for FSV Frankfurt as they beat St Pauli 3-1 in the second tier of German football. The Nigerian striker impressed before he was replaced in the 89th minute by Joel Gerezgiher. FSV Frankfurt are back in action when they travel to Eintracht Braunschweig, and Awoniyi will be looking to impress yet again.
Sergi Canos started for Brentford but featured for just 45 minutes in their 4-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday before he was replaced by Sam Saunders. He did have one shot which was saved by Owls ‘keeper Keiran Westwood. He was then back on the substitutes bench and featured for just five mintues in the Bees’ 3-1 defeat at home to Derby County. He will be hoping for a better performace when his side face Wolves at Griffin Park tomorrow.
Samed Yesil was an unused substitute for FC Luzern as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Zurich. He again started on the bench in their 1-0 defeat at St Gallen. However, he did come on as a 74th minute substitue replacing Michael Frey but he couldn’t make an impact. He will be hoping to add to his solitary goal when they travel to FC Sion on Saturday.
Lazar Markovic are currently injured and did not feature for Fenerbahce, whilst Allan and Andre Wisdom was left out of their respective matchday squads.
