Ryan Fulton kept his first clean sheet for Portsmouth as they beat Stevenage 2-0. The Scotland U21 goalkeeper also made his tenth appearance for the club in their 3-1 victory at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening. Paul Cook’s side are now fourth in League Two and will be looking to close the gap on third-placed Plymouth to three points with a win at home to Newport on Saturday.

Luis Alberto picked up an assist as Deportivo drew 3-3 with Malaga. The Spaniard had a shot blocked after being booked in the 21st minute. The attacking midfielder set up Cartabia to make it 2-2 with his fifth assist of the season. Alberto will be looking to impress again when his side travel to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Mario Balotelli forced his way back into the AC Milan starting line-up for their 2-0 defeat at Sassuolo, but was substituted after 55 minutes. In his first start since September, the striker had one shot blocked in the opening stages before being replaced by Jeremy Menez. Balotelli will be looking to build on this when they travel to Chievo on Sunday.

Samed Yesil was again left out of the FC Luzern squad as they suffered a 5-2 defeat at Young Boys. With just one goal so far this season, the Turkish striker will be hoping to force his way into the side when Luzern host Lugano in the Swiss Super League tomorrow evening.

Marko Grujic played the full 90 minutes for Red Star Belgrade as they comfortably beat Jagodina 3-1 to remain unbeaten at the top of the Serbian Premier League. Their weekend fixture at Novi Pazar has been postponed so Grujic will next be in action when Red Star host Spartak Subotica on 18 March.

Sergi Canos played 71 minutes for Brentford in their 2-1 defeat to Charlton on Saturday. The Spain U19 starlet had two chances, but did pick up a yellow card for a foul of Yun Suk-Young. Dean Smith’s side next travel to QPR on Saturday 12 March, and Canos will be looking to play his first 90 minutes in the Championship.

Allan returned to the Sint-Truiden squad last week in their 3-0 defeat to Club Brugge, but started on the substitutes bench. He came on in the 75th minute for midfielder Faycal Rherras, and will look to get more minutes on his belt after 45 minutes in the defeat at home to Zulte Waregem. Allan has played just six games for his loan side, winning one game. He will be searching for another three points when Sint-Truiden host Lokeren on Sunday.

After starting in their 3-3 draw last week, Taiwo Awoniyi returned to the bench in FSV Frankfurt’s 4-0 defeat at Union Berlin. The Nigerian scorer came on as a 67th minute substitute replacing Alexander Huber. He will be looking to return to the starting line-up when they host Freiburg on Sunday.

Lazar Markovic is still currently out injured and visited Melwood last week. Fenerbahce next host Kayserispor on Sunday, and Markovic may return to the fold after four games out injured with a hamstring injury.
