Liverpool U18s bounced back from their defeat against Manchester City to draw 0-0 with West Ham in the Premier League play-offs on Saturday afternoon.
Neil Critchley’s side dominated the game, hitting the crossbar on numerous occasions, but could not find the back of the net.
The draw officially means that Liverpool cannot win the Premier League title, and slip to fourth , and a win against Chelsea on 29 April could see them move up to third.

Liverpool were without the injured duo Bobby Adekanye and Yan Dhanda, whilst Adam Phillips was also unavailable. This allowed summer signing Paulo Alves to return to the starting line-up in his more natural number 10 role.

Speaking after the goalless draw, Critchley was pleased with how side dominated the game, but was frustrated with how his side weren’t clinical in the final third.

He told “We created plenty of chances but we just couldn’t convert them. We hit the post twice and the bar and it was a frustrating day for us. The boys gave everything but we just lacked the cutting edge in the final third.”

Liverpool end the season when they travel to Chelsea next Friday, with the game against the second-placed Blues at Aldershot Town FC.

Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Parker, Whelan, Lewis; Coyle (Johnston 82′), Kane; Lennon, Alves (Masterson 70′), Woodburn; Gomes (Owens 80′).
