Sergi Canos found himself on the scoresheet in an otherwise bleak weekend for Liverpool’s loanees. Mario Balotelli, Taiwo Awoniyi and Marko Grujic all ended up on the losing side. Samed Yesil played a cameo role for FC Luzern whilst Allan was left out of his side’s match day squad. Here’s the full round-up:

Sergi Canos scored his sixth goal of the season as Brentford beat MK Dons 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Spaniard curled his ninth minute effort into the top corner, but was then replaced in the 77th minute by Akaki Gogia. Canos then started but was taken off in the 80th minute and was replaced by Sam Saunders in their 2-0 defeat at Hull on Tuesday night.

Mario Balotelli played the full 90 minutes for AC Milan, but he could only manage four shots on goal as they drew 0-0 at home Carpi. However, he was booked when he slid into the face of Carpi keeper Vid Belec. He was then left out of the matchday squad for their 2-1 defeat at Verona.

Marko Grujic made his comeback from injury but Red Star Belgrade suffered their first defeat in five games as they lost 2-1 at home to the in-form Cukaricki. Grujic returned to the starting line-up for the top-of-the-table clash, but was booked in the 24th minute, and was then replaced by Slavoljub Srnic with 15 minutes to go.

Samed Yesil came on as an 83rd minute substitute for FC Luzern in their 3-0 victory over FC Thun at the weekend. Yesil has been with the U21s in recent weeks, but returned to the squad for the victory.

Allan was an unused substitute for Sint-Truiden as they drew 2-2 at home to Lokeren. The result extends their winless run to eight matches, whilst Allan will be looking to force his way back into the side before he goes on international duty.

Taiwo Awoniyi again started for FSV Frankfurt, but he could not fire them back into form as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sandhausen. The Nigeria U23 international was booked in the 45th minute before Edmond Kapllani replaced him in the 80th minute. Frankfurt have picked up one point from their last 21 available and are hovering just above the Bundesliga relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Lawrence Vigouroux, Ryan Fulton, Luis Alberto missed their respective matches through injury, whilst Andre Wisdom didn’t feature as Norwich City did not have a game this week.
